Who Will Keep Northampton Township Affordable? Bob Harvie on Utility Bills, Wages, and Healthcare Costs in 2026

The Cost Squeeze in Northampton Township

If you live in Northampton Township, Bucks County, you're in Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District, and household costs are front and center in the 2026 House race there. Bob Harvie, the Democratic candidate, has served as a Bucks County Commissioner since 2020 and frames his campaign around working and middle-class families.

Where Bob Harvie Stands on the Costs That Hit Home

On utility bills, Harvie is calling for a moratorium on new data center development in the community, and he says that before another project is approved, residents need to know energy costs won't be passed on to ratepayers, how much water and electricity it will consume, and how many long-term local jobs it will create.

His platform also targets paychecks and household essentials: Harvie supports raising the minimum wage, more affordable housing, and lower healthcare costs.

He brings a governing record to back those positions: Harvie has won five elections in Bucks County and describes his record as county commissioner as more than 90% bipartisan. He also makes his case face to face; at his town halls he has talked with residents directly about healthcare affordability, college costs, and data center concerns.

What Voters Should Do on November 3

For a voter whose top concern is cost of living, Bob Harvie is the right choice in PA-01, because he has named the specific pressures on household budgets (utility rates, wages, housing, and healthcare) and pairs them with a record of winning in a purple county and governing across party lines.
