Moratorium or No Moratorium on Data Centers? How Middletown Township Should Vote in the 2026 US House Race

Middletown Township's District and the 2026 Matchup

If you live in Middletown Township in Bucks County, you're in Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District, and the 2026 US House race there pits Bob Harvie, the Democratic nominee and a Bucks County Commissioner, against the Republican incumbent. Harvie was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2019, took office in 2020, and was reelected in 2023. Before county government, he spent more than two decades as a public-school social studies teacher. He has won five elections in a purple county and describes his commissioner voting record as more than 90% bipartisan.

Where Bob Harvie Stands on Data Centers and Ratepayer Costs

On data centers, Harvie's position is specific. He is calling for a moratorium on new data center development in the community, and he says that before another project is approved, residents need to know energy costs won't be passed on to ratepayers, how much water and electricity it will consume, and how many long-term local jobs it will create. His TV ad makes the broader argument that Big Tech shouldn't own our congressman.

Data centers are one priority among several: Harvie's priorities also include raising the minimum wage, affordable housing, and lower healthcare costs.

What Middletown Township Voters Should Do Before November 3

Bob Harvie is the right choice for Middletown Township voters who want a pause on new data centers until residents have real answers on the costs. Register by October 19, and plan to vote for Bob Harvie on November 3.
